Program Assistant Overview
Program Assistants (PAs) are trained individuals who play a key role in supporting the delivery of the CanSkate and Pre-CanSkate programs under the guidance of the CanSkate Director. They are essential to creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment for our skaters.
PAs may come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

Current club skaters
-
Former skaters
-
Athletes from related sports (e.g., hockey, ringette, speed skating)
Program Assistants are valued volunteers and an integral part of the program’s success.
Eligibility & Registration
All Flamboro Skating Club home club members aged 11 or older as of September 1, 2025, are welcome to apply to assist with FSC’s Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate sessions.

PAs will be scheduled on a rotational basis.

During registration, applicants may indicate their preferred day(s) to assist.
High School Students – Earn Volunteer Hours
High school students seeking to complete community service hours are encouraged to apply.
Volunteering as a Program Assistant:

Provides leadership and teamwork experience
-
Involves mentoring and supporting younger skaters
-
Counts toward your high school volunteer hour requirement
-
Is a fun and rewarding way to be involved in the community
Training Requirement
Participation in the mandatory Program Assistant Training Clinic is required.

The training will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025

Once registered, each PA will receive an assigned training time
